The first thing to know about Google analytics is that it can be a little intimidating for a beginner. This tool can be a daunting tool for those who do not understand it, even new entry-level digital marketers struggle with it sometimes. For an amateur, Google analytics is a complicated online tool spewing data in all different directions. However, this data can be very useful to a company if they use it properly otherwise, the data is useless to them. That is why it’s essential that a company should spend time learning about this tool that can only be beneficial to them.
Luckily they can get help from the marketing guru himself Avinash Kaushik who is the O.G when it comes to understanding Google Analytics and how to use it successfully. I myself decided to read one of Kaushik’s blogpost regarding Google Analytics and after reading it I decided to follow his advice and sign up for the free Google analytics course. After completing the course I decided to sign into my Google Analytics account and started exploring all of its interesting features and tools. Google Analytics has an excellent demo feature where it shows a demo illustration of how retained results and reports of a website looks like. This demo shows all the different ways Google Analytics can be used to retain information and data. It organizes and categorizes all the data to make it easy for any visitor to use.
For a company to get the answers they’re looking for, they’ll have to establish what they’re questions are. For instance what specific data are they looking for such as the bounce rate of their website, visitors rate and most importantly what pages have the most views. All of this information can help a company to improve its website and potentially increase traffic to their website. They’ll be able to see what content has the most views and what social platforms do not have any views. This helps them to determine the new goal and it shows what their key performance indicators are. Their KPI’s will determine whether or not they’ll achieve their goals. Lastly and most importantly they’ll be able to keep track of the analytical data that measured the KPI’s and adjust their efforts and website accordingly.
There are so many benefits when it comes to using Google analytics. It is really an excellent tool to keep track of site activity and other valuable metrics. So for any company looking for a boost in their social media strategy, I highly recommend it!
